Best Wishes and Thank You!

As I end my two-year stint as your president I want to take a moment to thank you for your support during this time. You have been gracious through my mistakes and I think we have accomplished some things together. I appreciate those of you who have stuck with the club and have helped bring it along.
Thanks for your help and I know you will stand behind Jim as he takes the helm of this great CAUHF Group!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
John - W5JLG

No Meeting in December

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support these last two years. You have been a great group to work with and I look forward to continuing on the Board for the next year. I know you join me in pledging to work with the incoming officers and new Board members as the club moves forward.
Since there are so many meetings and parties in December we chose several years ago to not have a meeting in December. So, from Barbara and myself, please have a very Merry Christmas and a great New Year. See you in 2012!

Radio Sale Saturday, September 17, 2011

This is a reminder from Georgia:

The radio equipment that was owned by Jim Blackmon, K5VZ, is being sold Saturday, September 17, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, 10 a.m. til 2 p.m. 1008 Pine St. (That's just off 10th St. - Hwy 7, which is the highway coming into Arkadelphia if you take the 78 mile marker exit. If you take the 72/73 exit, then you're already on Pine Street. Jim's office was right beside the Exxon station and that's where the sale is being held.
I know that there is a hamfest at Catholic High that day and I recommend looking there and then going on to Arkadelphia to look there.
I would attach a list, but it is 5 pages long!!!! and that is just the electrical equipment. I remember there is a TS50, and a QRP rig and SEVERAL new radios (he had just bought some new equipment when he died) and 12 and 20 and 35 amp power supplies and testing equipment and etc. If there's something you have a specific question about, email me and I'll look at the list. 2 meter, 6 meter, 440, dual band and HF. I think there is some of everything, even some Heathkits. Kenwood, MFJ, Hustler, Swan, Archer, Yaesu - those are just a few of the brand names!

Our September meeting will be Next Monday, September 12, 2011 at Buffalo Grill on Bowman Curve in Little Rock. We usually start gathering around 5:30 p.m. to eat and start the meeting about 6:30 p.m. Please join us this month as we have a couple of things of importance to discuss.

On another note, I received the following email concerning the reelection of K5MC, Mickey Cox, who is our Delta Division Director.

Greetings from the MS Gulf Coast...hope all is well there in Arkansas.
HQ ARRL will be holding an election in about 30 days for the position of Delta Division Director which carries a three-year appointment. Mickey Cox (K5MC) is the current Delta Director and has held the position since January 2009. He is now up for reelection and I am sure he would be honored to garner votes from members of N5CG - CAUHF Group as an ARRL affiliated organization.
Please take a few minutes to read Mickey's campaign statement which can be found at www.k5mc.com. Also, Bob Ideker (WB5VUH), a former AR Section Manager, stands ready to provide additional first-hand information supporting K5MC's reelection bid for Delta Division Director. Bob can be reached via e-mail at bideker@sbcglobal.net. By the way, you can read the full ARRL election announcement published at:
Request this important information be shared with your entire membership. As an official ARRL affiliated organization, K5MC is your elected representative to the ARRL Board of Directors. Therefore, do not hesitate to contact Mickey personally at mcoxk5mc@bellsouth.net. He always welcomes direct discussion with division members concerning all ham radio related issues!
